upon reflection

so, a brief description/reflection about/on this trip:

The bus trip was organized and paid for by the volunteer group dc for obama. this weekend, as the races really starts to focus on OH and TX, our single bus of 50 was dispatched to support the local campaign offices. Next weekend an additional 4+ buses will be sent to cover the state through the March 4th primary. The bulk of this weekend's DC volunteers are in their 20s, but there are a fair share of older folks, 30sumfins, and even a 11 year old kid (he is hilarious, and the only other person that brought a psp). Everyone was super friendly from the start, as we gathered waiting for the bus in DC people were introducing themselves, joking around, etc. Its been extremely chill ever since. I have to say that the actual jobs we have to do, largely canvassing and phone banking, are not in and of themselves fun. The camaraderie goes a long way to making them tolerable, that we believe really strongly in what we're doing makes up the rest of the distance and the trip has actually been fun.

Maybe i just feel this way b/c i am filled w/mcdonald's coffee and heading home-
